Community Cinema presents LIONESS

As part of the Community Cinema program at Open Eye Café, there will be a free screening of the award-winning documentary “LIONESS” on Thursday, Oct. 9, at 7 p.m. The documentary explores the role of women in the military, and it aims to recognize and give identity to women soldiers in the contemporary context of Iraq. Following the screening will be a panel discussion. Panel members will include the filmmaker, Daria Sommers, as well as at least one female soldier from North Carolina.
